TOOLS YOU WILL NEED:  Knife to cut bread, knife to spread condiments, bowl

 & spoon to combine onion-cheese mixture, napkins, serving platter 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • Shredded cheddar, Swiss or Monterey Jack cheese
  • Sliced stuffed green olives to taste
  • 8 slices ham (leftovers or lunch meat)
  • 8 slices turkey (leftovers or lunch meat)
  • Thick slices of ripe tomatoes, optional
  • Romaine lettuce
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • BACON VINAIGRETTE, to taste 

DIRECTIONS:  Combine onion, cheese & olives with vinaigrette, mixing well to coat.

 Spread half of the bread with mayonnaise & the other half with mustard.  Layer 1 slice

 of bread with ham, cheese-onion mixture, turkey, tomato & then lettuce.  Top with

 other half of bread.  Slice to desired sandwich sizes; wrap the bottom half of each

 slice with a napkin & serve sandwiches on a platter if desired.
